Torrequebrada is an urbanised area situated near the resort of
Benalmadena in
the Costa del Sol region of Spain. It is a favourite with golfers due to the
large golf course that it situated on its doorstep. It is set in a tranquil
setting but is close enough for visitors to explore the many attractions of the
surrounding area.
Major Tourist Attractions
Predominantly the golf course near the urbanised area is what attracts visitors
to this area. You can play the 18 hole challenging golf course and then enjoy a
drink in the club house. Other sporting activities available in the area include
swimming, tennis, football, badminton and volleyball. A short trip will bring
you to some lovely beaches where you can choose to relax in the sun or enjoy
water sports such as jet skiing, surfing and diving. Nearby Benalmadena has a
sea life centre with exotic species of marine life. There is also an
archaeological museum and a marina to take a pleasant stroll along.
Arroyo de la Miel is a brief car journey away and is home to Tivoli World. This is a theme
park that the kids will love with over 30 rides and attractions.
Shopping Opportunities
The Torrequebrada area has its own shopping centre which will be a great
experience for those shopaholics in the group. Here you will find shops and
stores that sell a range of items including jewellery, watches, clothes, shoes,
handbags, leather goods, pottery, ceramics, art, linen, electrical goods and
perfume. You will also be able to buy plenty of gifts and souvenirs to take
home. Benalmadena has many interesting shops in the marina area of the town. A
little further to the east is Torremolinos which has a great shopping district
known as the Calle San Miguel, where you will find many designer clothes shops
and boutiques.
Eating Out and Nightlife
There are many different restaurants, cafés and bars to choose in the area. They
cater for all different tastes and you will find many dishes that will get your
taste buds tingling. As well as the usual Spanish dishes and Tapas, you can
order meals from countries such as Italy, France and Britain. Benalmadena has an
excellent rage of cafés and restaurants located in the marina area.
Torrequebrada has a hotel which has a lively and entertaining casino for those
who love a bit of a flutter. There are many lively bars, discos and nightclubs
to be found in nearby Benalmadena. Live entertainment, karaoke and music are
available until dawn the next day.
