The exact date of settlement of the area is not known but some believe that San Pedro and Guadalmina was a Greek town called Mainake; others believe they were part of a Roman town named Salduba.

The “Old Town” of Guadalmina has historical streets and is surrounded by the town walls of the old Moorish castle. Tourists can also enjoy the Annual Summer Fair which takes place in October. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the community and mix with the locals.
