El Presidente is an upmarket urbanised area approximately 35 kilometres from
Marbella and close to the town of
Estepona. It is regarded as one of the most
premier and exclusive resorts in the area. It is laden with exotic flowers and
trees and is a 5 minute walk from the nearest beach. It is located in the ideal
spot to enjoy some peace and relaxation, yet is less than half an hour from the
bustling resort of Marbella.
Main Tourist Attractions
With beautiful sandy beach being so close to El Presidente, it is a great
location for those who love to relax in the sun. Watersports such as jet skiing,
parasailing and surfing are available on the beach for those who love a bit of
excitement. Marbella and Estepona have numerous golf clubs and are a paradise
for lovers of the game. Other activities available in and around El Presidente
include tennis, squash, swimming, horse riding and gymnasiums. Nearby Estepona
also offers attractions such as a bullring with four museums and watchtowers
dating back to the time of the Moors. The bullring also hosts concerts when
there is no bullfighting. Families will love the lush park space in El
Presidente and Estepona; perfect for a picnic or a bike ride. The famous and
upmarket
Puerto Banus area is 10 minutes drive from El Presidente. There is a
marine observatory as well as a multiplex cinema to enjoy.
Shopping Opportunities
El Presidente is situated close to the Bena-vista commercial centre which boasts
a range of shops. Here you can pick up holiday essentials, clothing, jewellery,
toys and souvenirs. Estepona has a mixture of small family-run shops and two
modern shopping areas, namely the Calle Terraza and Calle Real. Here you can
shop til you drop and buy items such as clothing, shoes, leather goods, pottery,
art, perfume, jewellery and souvenirs. There are also open air markets held in
the marina area every week.
Eating out and Nightlife
There are many restaurants, cafés and bars to be found in El Presidente.
Alongside the traditional Spanish cuisine such as Tapas and tortillas, you will
find a whole host of international cuisine from countries such as Britain,
France and Italy. Many beach bars are located along the beautiful beaches to
serve visitors food and drink whilst they relax in the sun. Estepona, Marbella
and Puerto Banus are nearby and feature a myriad of cafés, bars and restaurants
to enjoy also.
There are no discos or nightclubs in the upmarket El Presidente urbanised area.
Evenings focus on enjoying the activities and warm air, then sitting down to a
delicious meal and a bottle of Spanish wine. For those who would like a more
lively evening, Marbella and Puerto Banus have a range of nightclubs and discos.
Puerto Banus also has a casino which is open until the early hours and has live
entertainment during the summer months.
