Costalita is an urbanised area located between
Estepona and
San Pedro de Alcantara in the Costa del Sol region of Spain. Located close to the shoreline,
it serves as a great base for exploring the surrounding area; Gibraltar is 45
minutes away,
Puerto Banus, only 10 minutes and
Marbella is 15 minutes. This
urbanised area is made up of expensive and beautiful apartments and townhouses
which reflect the authentic Spanish styles. All of this is surrounded by
beautifully landscaped green areas.
Main Tourist Attractions
Costalita is the perfect base for those who love to lie on the beach or get
their juices flowing with some watersports. The beach at Costalita is clean and
sandy; visitors can also try activities such as parasailing, surfing and
windsurfing. Golfers have a choice of some wonderful courses in the surrounding
area including
El Paraiso, Guadalmina and
Los Flamingos. Other activities
available include tennis, swimming, horse riding and squash. Visitors may also
wish to take the short trip to Estepona to enjoy the bullring with its four
museums or to view the Moorish watchtowers. Taking a trip to San Pedro also
offers the chance to visit Roman baths and a 6th century basilica. Puerto Banus
has a multiplex cinema and a marine observatory, where you can feed stingrays
and meet many species of exotic marine life.
Shopping Opportunities
The urbanisation of Costalita is limited in terms of shopping. They have a
couple of supermarkets for purchasing food and holiday essentials. Shopaholics
will be pleased to hear that a short 10 minute journey to Puerto Banus will give
them access to an El Cortes Ingles department store and a large shopping centre.
Here you can purchase electrical items, leather goods, toys, clothing, handbags,
jewellery, perfume and art. San Pedro also has a market every Thursday where you
can practice your bartering skills.
Eating out and Nightlife
Costalita has a beach club and a restaurant where visitors can enjoy some
traditional Spanish meals. As many ex-pats have relocated to this urbanised
area, there are some international dishes available on the menu. High quality
restaurants, bars and cafés can be found in Puerto Banus, particularly around
the marina area. A further drive to Marbella offers many more choices to eat and
drink.
Due to the fact that Costalita is a quiet and exclusive area, there are no
nightclubs or discos. As it is close to Marbella and Puerto Banus, you are not
too far away to dance until the early hours of the morning. You will also find a
casino in Puerto Banus which has live entertainment during the summer months.
Marbella offers a range of nightly entertainment including live music, karaoke
and cabaret shows.
